Are You Qualified? – Fiverr Tips

Trust is an important aspect of selling on Fiverr, your customers need to feel they are in safe hands and there are a number of ways you can let them know they are:

1.      Tell them – It seems stupid, but how else are they supposed to know? If you have relevant industry experience with regards to your gig then it would be crazy not to mention it. A gig such as ‘I will make a hard decision for you for $5’ will fall flat on its face unless you can back it up with some tangible evidence of why you will do a good job. Maybe you have had 10 years experience as a psychiatrist or even a business analyst which would support you when selling; this is something you can mention.

2.      Show them – It is easy to say you make killer logos, but personal preference can go a long way in graphic design, so let the client decide for themselves whether they like what you can do. Adding a series of photographs to your gig or even a video, displaying a vast array of previous works, would convince the client to choose your gig as they are bound to see something they like. Why not add a video talking the potential clients through your portfolio? The personal touch can go a long way when confronted with an endless sea of seemingly identical gigs!

3.      Prove it – Saying you are qualified to deliver raises expectations, if you cannot meet these expectations then you can expect a metric tonne of negative feedback which will put other customers off. The key here is transparency, if you are offering to make logos and claim to hold 30 years experience then deliver a pixelated mess then there will be no repeat business, no positive feedback and no money in your account.

eBooks – Fiverr Tips

Fiverr eBooks may appear as though they are the key to your financial success, but looks can be deceiving. Spending your hard earn dollars for useless information can be a real setback, especially if you are struggling to break even from your losses. The fact many of these documents are so small means it is often difficult to acquire a sample from them from the publisher; it can be really hard deciphering whether you are buying something worthwhile. Here are a few tips to get you through:

  1. Fiverr eBooks are for idiots. As a general rule, this is pretty much true; the large majority of eBooks on the topic of Fiverr selling clearly point out the obvious or steal their ideas from websites such as this. If you are not an idiot, don’t buy one.
  2. Occasionally there may be an especially effective eBook; the best of the best will be heavily documented on websites such as FiverrTips.com and a variety of other resources. Secret strategies don’t often stay secret for long, so keep an eye on FiverrForums.com to see if people are sharing the information they receive.
  3. Whilst websites may say ‘this eBook is the best ever’, it might not necessarily be true. Many eBooks are sold via websites and other intermediaries on a commission basis, this can cause many to miss-sell the books as something they are not and even lie. Watch out for these rogue traders. FiverrTips.com guarantees an upstanding level of honesty with the websites and eBooks they promote and will give you full justified reasoning when we suggest something to you, if it isn’t justified it probably isn’t worth your time, or money.

Be Smart – Fiverr Tips

It doesn’t take a genius to be successful on Fiverr, but you need to give your gigs some thought before wildly throwing yourself into the marketplace. Look at your gig from a customer point of view, why would they choose your service over others which are similar? If there are no similar gigs, ask yourself why would anybody have not thought of it before, would nobody buy it? In essence, only time can tell, but one of the most reported fall downs of aspiring Fiverr users is creating irrelevant gigs, making no sales and losing interest. You should seriously think about how to gain the competitive edge whether that is formatting your gig in an aesthetically pleasing way or using social networks or websites such as this to advertise your services. First and foremost, use common sense to guide you through any problems you face, creating a laborious and overly complicated way of managing your gigs will only serve your downfall, overstretching yourself will have a similar effect. Start small and grow into something tremendous, it worked for big firms such as Coca Cola and McDonalds, so why wouldn’t it work for you?

A Little Less Conversation – Fiverr Tips

Flowery language and eloquent verses regarding your gig may appeal to some customers; others have had it with the personal touch. How can you deliver for both types of customer? No doubt a hard question to answer, but clearly the answer lies in what genre of gig your operations fall under. If you are offering gigs under the writing section, providers are usually expected to be gifted in the art of literature and structuring a clear and coherent string of sentences, using eloquence may be appropriate here. Conversely, if you are doing design of logos and other graphics, customers usually want an in and out scenario, no messing about or complications. There is no need to describe the tones of purple used or any other simply trivial aspects of your work; it may even be the case that they don’t care. Think whether the topic of your gig is something the customer would expect literary competence from, if the answer is yes then provide, if not then make a little less conversation and get the job done.

The Customer Is Always Right – Fiverr Tips

Regardless whether you are wrong or right, sometimes it is just best to apologise. On Fiverr, this simple teaching can be crucial to your success or failure. $5 may be a small amount of money to pay for what you are offering, but with the high level of competitiveness driving the quality of gigs upwards you need to be prepared to move with the times and ensure you deliver what is expected. Feedback, indicated by a thumbs up and thumbs down, is displayed to your customer when they select to view your gig, it is a major factor for the customer when deciding whether they should part with their hard earned money to receive your service. Ensuring you have positive feedback therefore is crucial, anything below 90% will most likely flag up doubt and waiver a sale. A top way to avoid negative feedback, bringing de facto positive feedback, is clearly detailing in your gig description that any problems with the gig delivered can be worked through before negative feedback is issued. Be careful not to come across as desperate for positive feedback, loosely mask this sentiment with the idea that you care about the service you deliver.

Stand Out From The Crowd – Fiverr Tips

Imagine a supermarket without products on the shelves, you only have the product names to differentiate between products and more importantly, which products are best. Customers can have similar troubles when perusing the FIverr marketplace, as popularity of the site increases so does the volume of gigs which increases the risk of duplication. Considering this, there is a real need to stand out from the crowd, and here is how you can do it:

1. Add some evidence – getting a real idea of what you’re going to receive from a text explanation alone can really make you reconsider purchasing a gig, usually you just don’t know what you’ll be getting. This can have an impact on the amount of orders you receive and also how positive the feedback you receive will be. If you say you design logos and then send the client their company name in basic font then you won’t be getting a great response, they are clearly expecting more. However, if you add previous examples of your logos then if the client likes what they see, they place the gig more eagerly and know what the expect. If you exceed expectations then fantastic, but if you don’t you could be in for a thumbs down so try and be realistic with the work you showcase. Adding a video or some images of work you’ve done adds to your credibility and makes the customer at ease knowing they are dealing with a competent and skilled provider.

2. Make him an offer he can’t refuse – Yes this may be one of the most famous lines from The Godfather, but it does indeed apply to Fiverr! People want value for money, if they can get more than they bargained for then all common sense is thrown out of the window. Say for example you are in the business of forum posting, many may offer 25 or 50 posts for $5, but if you offer 250 for the same price then it is a no-brainer, they’ll go with you. This is transferable to logo design, offer 5 revisions instead of 1 and it has the same effect. This is a great tactic to make sales, but be careful with sustainability, don’t overstretch yourself, because if you can’t deliver on your promise you’ll get bad press and will be pushed out of the market!
